Violet Wright Killed in Two-Vehicle Crash on SH 110 near Tyler

Violet Wright Killed in Tyler Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 110 at Meador Cemetery Road

Tyler, Texas (April 29, 2021) – A woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash Wednesday evening, south of Tyler, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on April 28, on State Highway 110 at Meador Cemetery Road.

DPS said Jessica Karen King, 20, of Lindale, was driving a 2012 Volkswagen Jetta northbound on SH-110 South while Violet Louise Wright, 59, of Bullard, was driving a 2011 Honda Accord and was stopped on Meador Cemetery Road trying to enter SH 110 South.

Wright failed to yield the right of way, as she entered SH-110 South and the Accord was struck by the Volkswagen.

Wright was taken to UT Health – Tyler, where she later died.

King was taken to UT-Health –Tyler in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
