Woman Critically Injured in Austin Two-Vehicle Crash at Burleson and Montopolis Drive; Miguel Dominguez Arrested

Austin, Texas (October 11, 2019) – A woman was critically injured in a suspected DUI crash on Monday in Austin, according to the police.

The crash happened on Monday, October 7, at the intersection of Burleson and Montopolis Drive.

Police said Miguel Dominguez, 56, was driving eastbound on Burleson Road when he ran a red light at the intersection and rear-ended a car that was stopped at the intersection.

The impact caused both cars to end up on the opposite side of the intersection.

One of the passengers, of the stopped vehicle, was sitting on the lap of the front passenger and hit the windshield upon impact.

The victim was taken to the hospital with brain bleeding. She was put in the Intensive Care Unit.

Dominguez was arrested and charged with third-degree felony intoxication assault and his bail was set at $15,000.

An investigation is underway.
