Woman Injured in Rear-End Crash on Hackberry in San Antonio

Woman Critically Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Hackberry at Rigsby

San Antonio, Texas (July 2, 2022) – A woman was critically injured Friday night in a rear-end collision in San Antonio, according to the police.

The crash happened around 10:57 p.m., July 1, in the 1800 block of Hackberry at Rigsby.

Police said a Toyota Highlander SUV was traveling northbound in the left lane of South Hackberry while a 2015 Chevrolet Camaro was traveling northbound in the right lane of Hackberry Street.

The Camaro driver was speeding when he failed to properly negotiate the curve and maintain his lane and rear-ended the SUV.

A woman, who was the back seat passenger in the SUV, was taken to BAMC with critical injuries.

The Camaro driver remained at the scene and showed no signs of intoxication. It was determined that he had been reckless and was at fault for the crash. He was arrested for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

The police are investigating the crash.
