Woman Killed in Semi-Truck Crash on Highway 290 in Jersey Village

Woman Killed in Jersey Village Two-Vehicle Crash on Highway 290 near North Eldridge Parkway

Jersey Village, Texas (August 12, 2021) – According to the police, a woman was killed early Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Jersey Village.

The fatal crash happened around 12:15 a.m., in the westbound lanes of Highway 290, near North Eldridge Parkway.

Police said the woman was driving a Lexus when she rear-ended a westbound semi-truck driven by Randal Lane Metcalf.

The impact ejected the woman from her car. She was airlifted to Memorial Hermann Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Metcalf remained at the scene after the crash.

The crash closed the main lanes of the highway for five hours.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Vehicular Crimes Division is investigating the crash.
