Zane Roberson Struck, Killed by Vehicle on Highway 62/180 in Gaines County

18-Year-Old Zane Roberson Killed in Gaines County Pedestrian Accident on Highway 62/180

Gaines County, Texas (March 3, 2020) – A Seminole teenager was killed in a pedestrian accident Sunday evening in Gaines County, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The accident occurred around 7:09 p.m., March 1, on U.S. Highway 62/180, east of Hobbs, N.M.

DPS said 18-year-old Zane Roberson was attempting to cross the highway when he was struck by an eastbound pick-up truck.

Another eastbound vehicle then rear-ended the pick-up truck.

Roberson was taken to Lea Regional Medical Center in Hobbs, where he was pronounced dead.

Both drivers were uninjured in the crash.

An investigation is underway.
