1 Killed, 1 Critically Injured After Being Hit by Car on Gulf Freeway in Houston

One Killed and One Critically Injured in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Gulf Freeway

Houston, Texas (November 24, 2019) – A man was killed, and another was critically injured after they were hit by a vehicle Saturday morning in Houston, according to a local news release.

The deadly accident occurred on Saturday, November 23, on the Gulf Freeway near the Cullen exit.

Police said a black car was struck by an unknown vehicle that left the scene. While the black car was stalled in a lane on the freeway, it was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The two drivers got out of their vehicles to exchange information, and that’s when a third speeding car hit both of them.

The impact threw both pedestrians into the HOV lane.

One man was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victim was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

Investigators said the driver of the third car was intoxicated at the time of the crash.

An investigation is ongoing.
