One Killed and One Injured in Houston Two-Vehicle Crash on Gulf Freeway

Houston, Texas (January 9, 2022) – One person was killed and another was injured Thursday evening in a two-vehicle crash in Houston, according to the police.

The fatal crash occurred around 6:10 p.m., January 6, in the 3800 block of Gulf Freeway (South Interstate Highway 45).

Police said a gray Kia Rio was disabled with no lights activated in a moving lane of traffic when it was rear-ended by a gray Jeep SUV.

The Kia driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

The Jeep driver was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
