1 Killed, 1 Injured in Multi-Vehicle Crash on SH 334 in Gun Barrel City

One Killed and One Injured in Gun Barrel City Multi-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 334

Gun Barrel City, Texas (September 21, 2022) – One person was killed, and another was injured Tuesday morning in a multi-vehicle crash in Gun Barrel City, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 7:25 a.m., September 20, on Main Street (State Highway 334) east of Big Chief Drive.

Police said a white Ford Escape was traveling eastbound on the highway when it crossed the two-way left-turn lane and entered the westbound lane, where it collided with a white van.

The van then crashed into the left side of a trailer in the westbound lane.

The Escape continued traveling the wrong way heading eastbound in the westbound lane, and it crashed head-on into a white Nissan pickup.

The Escape driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Nissan driver was taken to the hospital with moderate injuries.

The crash closed the highway for several hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
