1 Killed, 2 Injured in TxDOT Truck Crash on MoPac Flyover in Austin

One Killed and Two Injured in North Austin Two-Vehicle Crash on MoPac Flyover

Austin, Texas (April 30, 2021) – One person was killed, and two others were injured on Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash involving a TxDOT truck in north Austin, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened on April 28, on the MoPac/U.S. Highway 183 flyover.

Police said the Texas Department of Transportation work truck collided with a 2004 Ford F-250 pickup on the flyover. 

The impact caused both vehicles to lose control and come to rest against a concrete wall on the flyover.

The Ford driver was pronounced dead at the scene. Their identity has not been released.

Two passengers in the Ford sustained injuries in the crash.

The TxDOT truck driver was uninjured in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash. Anyone with any information about the crash is asked to call APD’s vehicular homicide unit at 512-974-8544.
