Two Hurt in Jasper County Crash on Highway 62

Jasper County, Texas (July 8, 2019) – Two people were injured in a head-on collision on Sunday afternoon in Jasper County, according to the DPS.

The incident took place at about 12:30 p.m. Sunday, July 7, on Highway 62 in Buna.

DPS said a 2018 Dodge Charger was traveling southbound on Highway 62 when the driver drifted into the northbound lane to avoid a slow-moving vehicle in front but ended up colliding head-on with an oncoming 1989 Toyota pickup.

The Toyota driver was airlifted to Baptist Hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Dodge was transported by ambulance to St. Elizabeth hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The DPS is investigating the incident.
