3 Injured in Wrong-Way Crash on I-35 Frontage Road in Austin

Three Injured in Austin 3-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35 Frontage Road at St. Johns Avenue

Austin, Texas (September 4, 2020) – Three people were injured in a wrong-way crash early Friday morning in Austin, according to officials.

The crash was reported around 12:50 a.m. on the southbound frontage road of Interstate 35 and St. Johns Avenue.

Officials said a vehicle was traveling northbound in the southbound lanes of the frontage road when it crashed into another vehicle. A third vehicle then crashed into one of the other two vehicles that were involved in the first collision.

The wrong-way driver was suspected to have been intoxicated.

Three adults were taken to Dell Seton Medical Center. One of the victims had serious injuries, and the two others had non-life-threatening injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
