3 Killed in Head-On Crash on I-35 in San Antonio

Three Killed in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 35 near Highway 281

San Antonio, Texas (July 5, 2021) – Three people were killed early Sunday morning in a head-on collision in San Antonio, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 2:20 a.m., July 4, on Interstate 35 near Highway 281.

Police said two men in a white truck were firing gunshots toward the V Lounge nightclub before driving the wrong way on the I-35 frontage road. The truck then traveled northbound in the southbound lanes and crashed head-on into an SUV.

The two men in the truck, both in their early 20s, were pronounced dead at the scene. One of them may have also suffered a gunshot wound.

The SUV driver, a man in his 30s, was also pronounced dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

The crash closed the southbound lanes of I-35 for four hours.

The crash remains under investigation.
