Adam Pacetti Killed in Panola County Car Crash on US Highway 79

Panola County, Texas (October 27, 2021) – A man was killed Monday morning in a car crash in Panola County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 10:27 a.m., October 25, on US Highway 79, about 2.5 miles southwest of the city of Carthage.

DPS said a 2019 Dodge pickup towing a semi-trailer was traveling southwest on the highway and was preparing to turn left into a private drive while a 2019 Subaru Forester was traveling northwest.

The Dodge turned in front of the Subaru, causing the driver to take evasive action to the left and into oncoming traffic.

A 2007 Kenworth truck-tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling southwest, and the driver took evasive action to the left to avoid the Subaru. The Subaru driver then took evasive action back to the right, and the Subaru collided with the Kenworth truck tractor.

The Subaru driver, Adam Pacetti, 37, of Texas City, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge driver, Jimmy Brister, 78, of Carthage, was uninjured.

The Kenworth driver, Ramon Lumbi, 54, of Porter, was also uninjured in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

While there are many causes of car accidents, the most common reasons of driver negligence include driver inattention; cell phone use; texting and driving; speeding; fatigue; failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign or private drive; running a red light; and driving while under the influence of alcohol or drugs,” Attorney Joel A. Gordon said. Mr. Gordon believes that an independent investigation is important. An Attorney will help obtain the crash report, secure accident photos, interview witnesses, and create a claim.
