Alejandro Garcia Killed in Pedestrian Crash on US 82 in Crosby County

Alejandro Garcia Killed in Crosby County Pedestrian Accident on U.S. Highway 82

Crosby County, Texas (September 4, 2021) – According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, a Lubbock man was killed Sunday evening in a pedestrian accident in Crosby County.

The deadly accident happened just after 5:30 p.m., August 29, on U.S. Highway 82.

DPS said Alejandro Rene Garcia, 50, was attempting to add fuel to a vehicle on the shoulder of the highway when a pickup truck driven by Alex Cale Johnson, 29, ran into a travel trailer and lost control.

Garcia was hit as a result of the crash. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Johnson was uninjured in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
