Arthur Leo Barnett ID’d as Victim Killed in Marion Train Accident on Vernell Lane near FM 78

Marion, Texas (August 10, 2019) – Authorities have identified Arthur Leo Barnett, 62, as the person who was killed last week Friday in a traffic accident involving a train in Marion.

The tragic crash happened just after 9:30 a.m. Friday, August 2 on Vernell Lane near Farm to Market Road 78.

Authorities said Barnett was trying to cross the tracks in a pickup truck when an Amtrak struck his vehicle.

Barnett was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
