Ashley Medina Bare and Tristan Bustillos Killed in Arlington Four-Vehicle Crash on Matlock Road near I-20

Arlington, Texas (February 2, 2020) – A pregnant woman, her unborn child, and another driver were killed Thursday night in a wrong-way crash in South Arlington, according to a local news source.

The crash was reported around 7:20 p.m. on January 30, on Matlock Road near I-20.

Based on a surveillance video from a nearby restaurant, 27-year-old Tristan Bustillos pulled into a turn lane, and instead of continuing across the lanes of traffic, he started driving southbound in the northbound lanes.

Bustillos then slammed head-on into an SUV occupied by Ashley Medina Bare, who was five months pregnant, and her mother.

The impact caused both vehicles to spin around.

Two other vehicles were also involved in the crash.

Bustillos was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Bare, and her unborn child, was declared dead at the scene. Her mother was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Two other people were treated and released at the scene.

The crash remains under investigation.
