Benjamin Isaac Castaneda Killed, Two Injured in North Richland Hills Four-Vehicle Crash on I-820

North Richland Hills, Texas (November 30, 2019) – One person was killed Thursday morning in a wrong-way crash in North Richland Hills, according to the authorities.

The crash happened on Thursday, November 28, on I-820.

Police said Neomi Martinez, 29, was driving a Chevrolet Tahoe westbound in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 820 when she struck two SUVs and a sedan. Police had originally stated that Martinez had entered the freeway through the Boulevard 26 exit ramp, but later said it was unclear where she entered the freeway.

17-year-old Benjamin Isaac Castaneda was killed in the crash. At least two other people sustained injuries in the crash.

Martinez was charged with intoxication manslaughter.

Castaneda’s family has created a GoFundMe page created to help cover medical and funeral costs.

The crash remains under investigation.
