Bobby Hamilton Killed in 3-Vehicle Crash on Highway 96 in Jasper

Bobby Hamilton Killed in Jasper Three-Vehicle Crash on Highway 96 near Recreational Road 255

Jasper, Texas (April 29, 2022) – One person was killed Thursday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Jasper, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 11:40 a.m., April 28, on Highway 96, 1.5 miles north of Recreational Road 255.

DPS said a 1994 Ford Pickup was traveling southbound while a Peterbilt truck towing a mobile home was traveling northbound, and a 2010 Hino Truck was traveling behind the mobile home.

The Ford crossed into the oncoming lane and struck the mobile home. It continued to travel down the left side of the mobile home, and then it struck the Hino truck.

The Ford driver, Bobby Hamilton, 88, of Brookeland, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
