Carlos Alberto Aria Vera Killed in Grand Prairie Two-Vehicle Crash on Belt Line Road near Lakeview Drive; Clesiz Leiva Arrested

Grand Prairie, Texas – One person was killed and another was injured early Sunday morning in a DWI crash in Grand Prairie, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 7:30 a.m., on March 17, on Belt Line Road near Lakeview Drive.

Police said 24-year-old Clesiz Leiva was driving southbound when she crossed into the northbound lanes and collided with an SUV.

The SUV driver, 33-year-old Carlos Alberto Aria Vera, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the SUV was taken to the hospital for treatment.

Leiva was taken to the hospital with minor injuries. After she was released, she was arrested and charged with intoxication manslaughter, and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She was being held in the Grand Prairie jail with her bond set at $125,000.

The police are investigating the crash.
