Child Injured in Forney Pedestrian Accident on Irongate Boulevard

Forney, Texas (October 30, 2020) – A child was struck by a vehicle Thursday morning in the Forney area, according to police.

The accident happened around 7:24 a.m., October 29, in the 1500 block of Irongate Boulevard, near Smith Intermediate School.

DPS said the child was on a bicycle and was stopped at a crosswalk while a Nissan Altima was also stopped for a stop sign at the same crosswalk.

According to witnesses, the Nissan and the child proceeded through the crosswalk, resulting in a collision.

The child was taken to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas with minor injuries.

The police are investigating the crash.
