One Child Killed, Five Injured in Kaufman ATV Crash on FM 2727

Kaufman, Texas (November 22, 2020) – One child was killed and five others were injured in an ATV crash Saturday afternoon in Kaufman, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 12:44 p.m., November 21, on FM 2727.

DPS said a Chevy Equinox was traveling southbound on the highway when it struck a side by side ATV which was attempting to cross the highway from CR 167 to Travis Lane.

A 6-year-old who was in the ATV was pronounced dead at the scene.

Three other passengers in the ATV were airlifted to Children’s Medical Center in Dallas in critical condition.

Two other passengers were transported to the hospital by ambulance.

The Equinox driver and passenger were uninjured in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
