Christian Barrios Identified as Man Killed in Austin Collision on Interstate 35

Austin, Texas (May 14, 2019) – Police have released the identity of the man who died in a fatal traffic collision in North Austin early Sunday morning.
Christian Barrios, 21, was killed in the collision which was reported just after 4 a.m. Sunday, May 12, in the 11000 block of I-35 near the Braker Lane exit.
Police said Barrios was driving a white 2018 Hyundai Elantra northbound on I-35 when he collided head-on with a southbound 2007 GMC Yukon heading the wrong way.
Barrios sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Two people riding in the GMC sustained minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital for treatment.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
