Evangeline Slavik ID’d as Woman Killed in El Paso Car Accident on Doniphan
El Paso, Texas (March 22, 2019) – The woman who was killed Wednesday afternoon in a head-on collision in El Paso has been identified as Evangeline Slavik, 68, according to police.
The tragic accident happened at around 12:40 p.m. Wednesday, March 20 in the 3900 block of Doniphan.
Police said Slavik was driving her 2008 BMW on Doniphan when she allowed her vehicle to veer into oncoming traffic and collided head-on with a 1994 Chevrolet Utility truck driven by David Tovar, 30.
According to the police, Slavik was undergoing some medical distress before the accident. She was decalred  dead at the scene.
Tovar sustained major injuries and was transported to University Medical Center while his passenger, a 16-year-old boy, was transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
An investigation into the crash is underway.
