Glenn Matthews Killed in Colmesneil Motorcycle Crash on U.S. 69 at FM 256

Colmesneil, Texas (November 18, 2021) – One person was killed on Tuesday in a motorcycle crash in Colmesneil, according to the Texas DPS.

The deadly accident happened around 6:30 p.m., November 16, at the intersection of U.S. Highway 69 and Farm to Market Road 256.

DPS said Glenn Matthews, 36, of Kountze, was riding a 2015 Kawasaki on U.S. 69 while a 2010 Toyota passenger car was traveling eastbound on FM 256.

Matthews was trying to pass a car when he lost control and was struck by the Toyota that had entered the intersection.

Matthews was taken by ambulance to Tyler County Hospital and then airlifted to Hermann Memorial Hospital in Houston, where he later died.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
