HPD Officer Injured in Crash on Almeda Genoa Road in Houston

Houston Police Officer Hospitalized after Houston Crash on Almeda Genoa Road

Houston, Texas (May 29, 2022) – An officer with the Houston Police Department was injured in a traffic crash Saturday night in Houston, authorities said.

The wreck occurred at about 10:00 p.m. Saturday, May 28, near the 8918 block of Almeda Genoa Road.

According to the authorities, the officer was sitting inside her parked patrol vehicle with its emergency lights activated when, for an unknown reason, the HPD vehicle was struck by a speeding car.

The officer sustained head, leg and back injuries and was transported to a hospital. Her current condition was not available. She has been working for the department for one or two years, authorities said.

The driver of the speeding vehicle was also hospitalized in unknown condition. It is undetermined whether the driver was intoxicated at the time of the accident.

No further information was available.

The police are investigating the crash.
