Isaac Gyekye Killed in Rear-End Crash on I-45 near New Waverly

Isaac Gyekye Killed in New Waverly Two-Vehicle Crash on Interstate 45

New Waverly, Texas (July 9, 2021) – According to the troopers, one person was killed in a two-vehicle crash Thursday morning between Huntsville and New Waverly.

The fatal crash happened around 6:22 a.m., July 8, on Interstate 45.

Troopers said a 2018 International semi-truck and a trailer was parked on the shoulder of the interstate and was waiting on a tow truck.

Isaac Gyekye, 49, of Willis, was driving a 2008 Toyota RAV 4 southbound on the shoulder of the interstate when he rear-ended the trailer.

Gyekye was taken to the Huntsville Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

The driver of the 18-wheeler, David Gerald, 41, of Arlington, was uninjured in the crash.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
