Jesus Daniel Espinoza Killed and 8 Injured in Post Oak Bend Three-Vehicle Crash on FM 987 near South Bend Drive

Post Oak Bend, Texas (November 23, 2019) – One person was killed, and eight others were injured in a three-vehicle crash between Post Oak Bend and Kaufman, a local news source reported.

The fatal crash occurred just after 6:00 p.m. November 22, in the 2800 block of FM 987, north of South Bend Drive.

According to a preliminary investigation, a 2012 Chevrolet Equinox driven by Sheryl Clark, 45 of Kaufman, was heading southbound on FM 987. Clark crossed over the center stripe after entering a curve and struck a northbound 2005 GMC Envoy driven by a 50-year-old Kaufman resident.

The Envoy, occupied by four other people, including a child, became disabled in the northbound lane and was struck by a 2018 Jeep Latitude driven by a 22-year-old Kaufman resident.

The Jeep was also occupied by another 22-year-old Kaufman resident and a 10-month-old child.

The force of the impact pushed the Envoy into the eastbound ditch, ejecting, Jesus Daniel Espinoza, 22, of Kaufman, who was not wearing a seat belt.

Espinoza was pronounced dead at the scene.

Clark was airlifted to Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas in critical condition.

The Envoy driver was airlifted to Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas in an unknown condition.

All the other parties were taken to Baylor University Medical Center- Dallas with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.
