52-Year-Old John Grant Killed in Corpus Christi Motorcycle Accident on S Padre Island Drive

Corpus Christi, Texas (November 6, 2019) – The motorcyclist who was killed in a traffic accident on Friday afternoon in Corpus Christi has been identified as 52-year-old John Grant, according to the Nueces County Medical Examiner’s Office.

The deadly crash happened just before 12:25 p.m. November 1, in the southbound lanes of S Padre Island Drive, just before the Everhart exit.

Police said Grant was riding a motorcycle when he clipped the back of a stopped vehicle. The impact ejected Grant from his motorcycle into the next lane and was then hit by another vehicle, which dragged him about 50 feet before coming to a stop.

Grant was pronounced dead at the scene. He was wearing a helmet at the time of the crash.

The police are investigating the crash.
