Jonathan Fuentes-Wilson Killed and Juan Chavez Injured in Ector County Two-Vehicle Crash on South Loop 338

Ector County, Texas (September 29, 2023) – One person was killed and another was injured Tuesday night in a two-vehicle crash in Ector County, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened on September 26, on South Loop 338.

DPS said Jonathan Pete Fuentes-Wilson, 31, of Odessa, was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Camaro westbound while Juan Pablo Chavez, 33, of Odessa, was driving a 2013 Ford F-150 eastbound.

Fuentes-Wilson failed to drive in a single lane and veered into the eastbound lane, where he struck Chavez.

Fuentes-Wilson was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Chavez was taken to Medical Center Hospital in stable condition.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
