Man Hit, Killed by Garbage Truck on White Oak Point Court in Cypress

64-Year-Old Man Killed in Cypress Hit-and-Run Pedestrian Accident on White Oak Point Court

Cypress, Texas (April 5, 2020) – A man was fatally hit by a hit-and-run garbage truck Saturday afternoon in Cypress, according to the police.

The accident happened around 4:30 p.m. April 4, in the 10800 block of White Oak Point Court.

According to a witness, the 64-year-old Cypress man was carrying a bag of palm leaves to the curb when the garbage truck passed him without stopping, and he called out to the driver to stop.

The driver stopped the truck and backed up over the man.  The driver then fled the scene.

The man was found in the middle of the two-lane street. He was declared dead at the scene. His name has not been released.

Authorities later said the driver of the three-person crew was cooperating with investigators.

The authorities are investigating the crash.
