Man Killed in Car Accident on Katy Freeway in Houston

46-Year-Old Man Killed in Houston Hit-and-Run Crash on Katy Freeway (West Interstate Highway 10); Sheila Michelle Brown Arrested
Houston, Texas (April 9, 2019) – A 46-year-old man was killed early Saturday morning in a traffic crash in Houston, authorities said.
The tragic accident happened at around 3:00 a.m. Saturday, April 6 in the 2400 block of Katy Freeway. Katy Freeway is also known as West Interstate Highway 10.
According to the authorities, Sheila Michelle Brown, 33, was driving a red Toyota Camry eastbound on the Katy Freeway when she hit a blue Mazda 3.
The Camry then crashed into a tractor-trailer truck that was stopped due to a previous accident that happened in the 2100 block of the Katy Freeway while the Mazda struck a white GMC Canyon.
The driver of the Mazda, who has not been identified pending notification of family, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Brown fled the scene on foot after the accident. She was later arrested by responding patrol officers.  She was transported to Memorial Hermann Hospital with minor leg injuries.
She was determined to be intoxicated and was charged with failure to stop and render aid and intoxication manslaughter.
The crash remains under investigation.
