Person Killed in South Austin Pedestrian Collision on William Cannon Drive and Highway 290

South Austin, Texas (August 4, 2019) – A pedestrian was hit and killed by a vehicle early Sunday morning in South Austin, according to the Austin Police Department.

The crash happened just after 1 a.m. on William Cannon Drive and Highway 290.

Police said a person was walking across the street against a red light when they were hit by a vehicle.

The pedestrian died in the crash.

The driver of the involved car stayed at the scene and cooperated with the investigators.

The crash is under investigation.
