21-Year-Old Prescilla Sanchez Killed in Montgomery County Two-Vehicle Crash on FM 1097 near Pearson Road

Montgomery County, Texas (May 19, 2020) – Two people were killed Friday evening in a head-on collision in Montgomery County, according to authorities.

The fatal crash happened around 5:00 p.m. May 15, on FM 1097 near Pearson Road.

DPS said Daniel Camillo, 34, of Montgomery, was driving a 2008 Nissan Titan westbound on the highway when he crossed the center line and crashed head-on into an eastbound 2000 Mercury Mountaineer driven by Prescilla Sanchez, 21, of College Station.

Camillo and Sanchez were declared dead at the scene.

A 19-year-old College Station woman, who was a passenger in the Mountaineer, was taken to Conroe Regional Hospital in critical condition. Both women appear to be sisters.

Investigators said intoxicated driving was a possible factor in the crash.

The DPS is investigating the crash.

We pass our sincere condolences to the family and friends of Prescilla Sanchez.

In Texas, a driver is legally intoxicated after consuming alcohol if their blood alcohol content (BAC) is .08% or higher. A driver is also considered intoxicated if they don’t have the normal use of their mental or physical faculties by reason of the introduction of alcohol. Alcohol, however, is not the only intoxicant, as drivers can become intoxicated by ingesting prescription and illegal drugs such as crack, marijuana, and cocaine.

Regardless of what substance caused the driver’s reaction time to become significantly altered, intoxication by any means can cause terrible accidents and injuries.

Innocent victims harmed by drunk drivers are entitled to compensation for their injuries, including but not limited to medical expenses; lost wages; pain and suffering and mental anguish; physical impairment and disability; and most importantly, punitive damages to deter future conduct. If a death occurred because of a drunk driver, you will want a knowledgeable accident lawyer to bring a wrongful death action against the drunk driver.
