Rachel DeLeon Killed in Jeep Crash at Timbergate Drive and Staples Street in Corpus Christi

Rachel DeLeon ID’d as Woman Killed in Corpus Christi Two-Vehicle Crash at Timbergate Drive and Staples Street

Corpus Christi, Texas (September 30, 2019) – The woman who was killed Sunday morning in a two-vehicle crash at a Corpus Christi intersection has been identified as Rachel DeLeon, 45, of Corpus Christi, according to the police.

The collision took place just after 9:00 p.m. September 29, at the intersection of Timbergate Drive and Staples Street.

Police said DeLeon was driving a Jeep northbound on Staples Street when she hit a vehicle that was attempting to turn onto Timbergate Drive from Staples Street.

DeLeon was declared dead at the scene. She was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Alcohol was not a factor in the crash.

Two people in the other car were taken to hospital for treatment. One of the victims was taken by ambulance while the other was taken by family members.

The southbound lanes of Staples Street near Timbergate Drive were closed following the crash.

The crash remains under investigation.
