Ricardo Ramirez Killed in Moped Crash at Boston Avenue and 2nd Place in Lubbock

Ricardo Ramirez ID’d as Man Killed in Lubbock Moped Accident at Boston Avenue and 2nd Place

Lubbock, Texas (May 27, 2022) – Authorities have identified the man who died Wednesday, nine days after he was seriously injured in a moped crash in Lubbock as Ricardo Ramirez, 66.

The fatal moped accident took place at the intersection of Boston Avenue and 2nd Place on May 16.

Police said Ramirez was riding a moped in the 2600 block of 2nd Place when he collided with a Dodge Durango at the intersection.

Ramirez sustained serious injuries and was taken to University Medical Center. On May 25, his condition deteriorated and he succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Dodge, Alberto Elizondo, 74, did not suffer any injuries.

No further details about the collision were immediately provided.

The police are investigating the crash.
