Ronterreal Mumphrey Killed in Cherokee County ATV Crash on Highway 21 near Alton

Cherokee County, Texas (October 31, 2023) – A man was killed on Saturday in an ATV crash in Cherokee County, according to the DPS.

The fatal crash happened on October 28, on Highway 21 near Alto.

DPS said Ronterreal Mumphrey, 36, of Alto, was driving an ATV on the highway when he was rear-ended by another vehicle.

The other driver had impaired visibility and could not see Mumphrey.

Mumphrey was ejected from the ATV and was taken to UT Health in Tyler where he was later pronounced dead.

The DPS is investigating the crash.
