Steven West, 67, Hospitalized after Polk County Car Crash on Highway 59

Polk County, Texas (May 15, 2019) – A 67-year-old driver was hospitalized after a two-vehicle wreck near Livingston in Polk County Monday afternoon.
According to the DPS, the crash took place at around 2:30 p.m. Monday, May 13, on U.S. Highway 59.
The report indicates that a 2016 Freightliner truck was traveling in the center lane northbound when one of its tires came off. The driver lost control and swerved across the center median, hitting an oncoming 2019 Volkswagen passenger car driven by Steven West, 67, of Humble.
West was flown to a Houston hospital for treatment. A passenger in his vehicle was taken to CHI St. Luke’s Health Memorial in Livingston.
The crash is under investigation.
