Two Police Officers Hurt in San Marcos Crash on East Hopkins Street

San Marcos, Texas (March 9, 2019) – Two San Marcos Police Department officers were struck and injured by a suspected DUI driver early Wednesday morning, according to the authorities.
The incident happened at about 2:14 a.m. March 6, in the 100 block of East Hopkins Street.
The report showed that the two officers were conducting a DWI traffic stop when another vehicle slammed into the patrol car, knocking down the two officers who were standing nearby.
Both officers were taken to the hospital for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The driver who struck the patrol car, identified as Zachary Adams, 21, was arrested for intoxication assault.
The crash remains under investigation.
