Veronica Camacho Critically Injured in Madison County Crash on Interstate 45 near Madisonville
Madison County, Texas (December 19, 2022) – Veronica Camacho, 39, of Madisonville, was critically injured after she was involved in a head-on crash that left one person dead on Sunday evening in Madison County.
The crash happened at around 5:55 p.m. Sunday, December 11, on Interstate 45 service road, approximately one mile north of Madisonville.
According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, Nancy Rodriguez, 32, of Dallas, was driving southbound on Interstate 45 when she failed to maintain a single lane and allowed her 2012 Kia Forte to drift into the opposite lane.
The Kia then collided head-on with a 2000 Toyota 4Runner that was being driven northbound on the interstate by Camacho.
Rodriguez was pronounced dead on the scene, while her passenger, a 9-year-old girl, was taken to Texas Children’s Hospital in critical condition.
Camacho was taken to CHI St. Joseph Regional Hospital in critical condition.
No other details regarding the crash were provided.
The crash remains under investigation.
