Two Injured in Laredo Two-Vehicle Crash

Laredo, Texas (November 19, 2021) – Two people were injured on Wednesday in a two-vehicle crash in Laredo, according to the authorities.

The crash happened on November 17, near the river.

 Authorities said agents in Laredo were notified about a crash near the river involving a suspected drug smuggling attempt, and when they tried to stop the suspected smuggler, he sped off. The smuggler then crashed into a pickup truck, causing it to flip, trapping two people inside.

The two people were pulled from the vehicle and taken to the hospital for treatment.

Agents searched the suspect’s vehicle and found bundles of marijuana totaling almost 460 lbs. with an estimated street value of $367,680.00.

No other details were provided.

An investigation is underway.
