Driver in Critical Condition after Midland Crash at W Front Street and S Garfield Street; Collin Maxey Arrested

Midland, Texas (June 16, 2022) – A driver was critically injured and another was arrested following a car crash that happened earlier this week at an intersection in Midland.

According to the Midland Police Department, the two-car wreck occurred at the intersection of W Front Street and S Garfield Street on Monday, June 13.

A witness told the authorities that Maxey was driving a Chevrolet truck when he failed to stop at a posted stop sign and slammed into another vehicle that was attempting to make a left turn at the intersection.

Police said the second driver was transported to Midland Memorial Hospital in critical condition.

Maxey was also taken to Midland Memorial Hospital to be treated for minor injuries before he was arrested on suspicion of DUI.

Maxey was booked at the Midland County Detention Center and was later released on an unknown bond.

An investigation into the crash is underway.
