James Benjamin Northcutt Killed in Car Crash on US 380 in Terry County

James Benjamin Northcutt Killed in Terry County Two-Vehicle Crash on US 380 near Gomez

Terry County, Texas (July 4, 2020) – Two drivers were killed Saturday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Terry County, two miles east of Gomez, according to DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 6:30 a.m. on US 380.

DPS said James Benjamin Northcutt, 42, of Carrizozo, NM, was driving a 2016 Dodge Charger eastbound on the highway while a 2004 Pontiac Grand Am driven by Angel Rojas-Crranco of Brownfield was heading westbound.

Northcutt crossed the double yellow line and crashed into the Pontiac in the westbound lane.

Both Northcutt and Rojas-Crranco were killed in the crash.

Northcutt was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash while Rojas-Crranco was not.

The crash remains under investigation.
