Ronald Crane Dies in Abilene Pedestrian Crash at South 1st Street and Portland Avenue

Abilene, Texas (June 4, 2019) – A man was struck and killed by a motorcycle on Saturday night in South Abilene, according to a police report.

The crash happened at around 11:10 p.m. June 1, at South 1st Street and Portland Avenue.

Police said Ronald Crane, 48, was walking across South 1st Street when he was struck by a westbound motorcyclist.

Crane was taken to a hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The rider, who was not wearing a helmet, was also hospitalized.

The Abilene Police Department is investigating the collision.
