Woman Killed in Hit-and-Run Crash on Almeda Road in Houston

47-Year-Old Woman Killed in Houston Pedestrian Accident on Almeda Road

Houston, Texas (September 18, 2020) – A 47-year-old woman was killed in a hit-and-run crash Sunday night in Houston, according to police.

The deadly accident happened around 8:30 p.m., September 13, in the 5000 block of Almeda Road.

Police said the woman was attempting to cross the street and was standing in the middle turn lane when she was struck by a southbound green Ford F-150 pickup truck, which was attempting to pass a vehicle that was stopped in a moving lane of traffic.

The Ford driver fled the scene after the accident.

The woman was taken to Ben Taub General Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. Her name has not been released.

An investigation is underway. Anyone with information about the accident is asked to call the HPD Hit and Run Unit at 713-247-4072 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
