Angela Garcia, 4 Others Injured in Gardendale Two-vehicle Crash; 2 Passengers Killed

Gardendale, TX. – Two boys who were killed in a two-vehicle traffic collision at an intersection in Gardendale have been identified as Argen Garcia and Axell Garcia.

According to a police report, Argen was pronounced dead on Tuesday afternoon at the intersection of FM 554 and Cottonwood Road.

Axell, his other brother Aceyn Garcia, and their mother, 41-year-old Angela Garcia, suffered severe injuries in the crash and were hospitalized.

According to a GoFundMe page, Axell succumbed to his injuries on Sunday. Angela was reportedly in stable condition while Aceyn had shown improvement, according to the GoFundMe page.

Gardendale, TX – The Odessa family that lost one son following a traffic collision that left several other family members in Gardendale on June 25 has lost yet another son in connection to the deadly incident.

According to a GoFundMe page, the second son succumbed to his injuries on Sunday, June 30th at the hospital. ” As you are aware Johnny and Angie’s son Argen passed away in a tragic vehicle accident on Tuesday. It’s with great sadness I share that another one of their sons has succumbed to their injuries and passed away today(6/30/2024).”

One of the family’s sons had died at the crash scene on June 25.

The incident happened at about 1:25 p.m. at the intersection of FM 554 and Cottonwood Road.

Gardendale, TX. – One person was killed and several others were injured following a two-vehicle traffic collision at an intersection in Gardendale, according to a police report.

Authorities say the accident happened at 1:15 p.m. on June 25, 2024, at the intersection of FM 554 and Cottonwood Road.

Reportedly, a 2023 Chevrolet 1500 and a 2017 GMC Acadia were involved in the deadly incident.

Preliminary investigation revealed that 37-year-old Ashley Danielle Hillin of Midland, Texas, was driving the Chevrolet westbound on Cottonwood Road when he disregarded a traffic control device and collided with the GMC operated by Elizabeth Lucille Ertel of Andrews, Texas. The GMC was heading northbound on Farm to Market 554.

Both Hillin and Ertel were wearing seatbelts and sustained minor injuries.

According to Texas Highway Patrol, a young male passenger in the GMC sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene. Three other passengers in the GMC, including two male minors and Angela Nichole Garcia, 41, of Gardendale, were seriously injured in the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
