Connor Ratcliff Injured in Fatal Head-On Crash on State Highway 111 in Yoakum

Connor Ratcliff Critically Injured in Yoakum Crash on State Highway 111

Yoakum, Texas (October 16, 2022) – Connor Jacobs Ratcliff, 18, of Yoakum, was critically injured after he was involved in a deadly head-on collision east of Yoakum on Saturday morning.

The Texas Department of Public Safety said the crash happened at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15 on State Highway 111.

Kolson Brock Jacobs, 19, of Yoakum, and Lorin Gayle Miller, 18, of Shiner, died in the crash that happened at around 11:30 a.m. Saturday, October 15 on State Highway 111.

DP said Kolson Brock Jacobs, 19, of Yoakum, was driving westbound on State Highway 111 when his 2018 Ford F-350 drifted into the eastbound lane and collided with of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500, driven by Ratcliff.

Due to the impact of the crash, the Ford spun 360 degrees and came to rest in the east side of the road in a ditch, while the Silverado came to rest in the shoulder of the eastbound lane facing northeast.

Jacobs was declared dead at the scene at 1:16 p.m. His passenger, Miller, was taken to Yoakum Community Hospital where she was pronounced dead at 1:00 p.m.

Ratcliff was airlifted to St. David’s Medical Center in Austin where he was in stable but critical condition Saturday.

No additional information about the accident was provided.

An investigation into the accident is ongoing.
