Bradley Hedger Killed in Wheeler County Semi-Truck Crash on US 83

Wheeler County, Texas (March 12, 2022) – One person was killed, and two others were injured Thursday night in a two-vehicle crash in Wheeler County, around three miles north of Shamrock, according to the Texas DPS.

The fatal crash happened around 9:45 p.m., March 10, on US 83.

DPS said a 2017 Volvo Truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling northbound on the highway while a truck tractor towing a semi-trailer was traveling southbound.

The Volvo driver failed to drive in a single lane, crossed over into the southbound lane, and struck the truck tractor on the driver’s side.

The driver of the truck tractor towing a semi-trailer, 60-year-old Bradley Hedger of Loveland, Colorado, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Volvo driver, 52-year-old Sorin Bodescu of Livonia, Michigan, and passenger, 37-year-old Ioan Sandu, of Clinton Township, Michigan, were taken to a Shamrock hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Texas Highway Patrol troopers are investigating the crash.
