David Webb Killed, Aaron Dixon Injured in Cleveland Two-Vehicle Crash on State Highway 105

Cleveland, Texas (October 24, 2023) – One person was killed and another was injured Thursday morning in a two-vehicle crash in Cleveland, according to the police.

The fatal crash happened around 8:27 a.m., October 19, on the SH 105 bypass between FM 1010 and US 59.

Police said David Wesley Webb, III, of Silsbee, was driving a passenger vehicle eastbound on the bypass when he entered into the past of an oncoming 18-wheeler, which was carrying coils of rolled steel, resulting in a collision.

The rolls of steel came off the trailer after the crash, requiring crews to reload them onto a second tractor-trailer.

Webb was killed in the crash.

The 18-wheeler driver, Aaron Dixon Jr., 56, of Beaumont, was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The crash remains under investigation.

Common Causes of Automobile Accidents

There are many different reasons why automobile, pedestrian, 18-wheeler, bicycle, and motorcycle accidents occur, including driver negligence, driver inattention, texting and driving, speeding, fatigue, failure to yield the right of way from a stop sign, or private drive, running a red light, and driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. While the factors listed above are the main causes of most accidents, there may also be other factors involved, which is why it’s important that an investigation be conducted before evidence disappears, especially in cases involving a fatality.  At Joel A. Gordon & Associates, we will act quickly to secure accident scene photos, interview witnesses, obtain police records, and secure other valuable evidence needed to win your case.  Call now for a free consultation.
