Jerry Rodriguez Killed in Moore County Pedestrian Accident on U.S. 287 near Dumas

Moore County, Texas (September 24, 2020) – A man was fatally hit by a semi-truck early Thursday morning in Moore County, around five miles south of Dumas, according to officials.

The deadly accident happened around 12:30 a.m., on U.S. 287.

According to a preliminary investigation, Jerry Rodriguez, 50, of Dumas, was crossing the roadway when he was struck by a southbound Peterbilt which was towing a semi-trailer.

Rodriguez was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other details were provided.

The crash remains under investigation.
