Kenneth and Jolene Hovis Injured in San Antonio Two-Vehicle Crash on Medina Base Road
San Antonio, Texas (May 31, 2019) – An elderly couple was injured last week Wednesday in a head-on crash in San Antonio, according to a local news source.
The crash happened on Wednesday, May 22, on Medina Base Road.
As per the report, a female driver was in the car with her 17-year-old cousin when they got a flat tire. The driver then lost control, jumped across the median and hit the couple’s SUV.
The couple was identified as Jolene Hovis, 78, and his husband Kenneth, 86.
The impact caused the SUV to flip over.
Officer Yami Virgin, who was on a ride-along with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Deputies Fugitive Apprehension Task Force, broke the windshield of the SUV to save the couple.
Jolene fractured her sternum and broke her hand in the accident while Kenneth sustained fractured ribs and a broken vertebra.
The crash remains under investigation.
